It seems that the cdrtfe people did not believe that this was worth to do. Did you ask them why this happended? BTW: please note that I cannot accept a report that is related to a front-end unless this is an incompatibnility between cdrtools and the front end that is triggered by cdrtools. If you believe that you found a bug, please send a report that includes a method that allows to repeat the problem by using cdrtools without a front end. Mkisofs implements UDF version 2.
