GUI cd burning programs have a checkbox to verify what you have written to disk to make sure it got written correctly (to make sure you don't just have made a coaster).this is what I mean by verify. for whatever reason, be it due to a program bug that the data could be written to the disk correctly, reading the data back from the disc after writing (possible need for ejection and pulling back in?) may be something the user wants. at times I have needed this, because I have not always gotten correct results. although there is no switch for this. the GUI program I have been using provides it somehow. I was requesting such verification via a commandline switch in cdrecord. reason: I can't be handing coasters to my client(s). ------------- Jim Michaels Jmi...@ya... There is an error in the newer mkisofs man page. -copyright FILE Specifies the Copyright file name. There is space on the disc for 37 characters of information. This param- eter can also be set in the file .mkisofsrc with COPY=filename. If specified in both places, the com- mand line version is used. according to the manual it is a filespec, not text. but the manual is in error. Did you make a bugreport against Cygwin? Cdrtools is compiled based on the results from a previous autoconf run. If Cygwin pretends to have interfaces desogned by Linux, they need to make these interfaces behave correctly or to reove them because they are useless. You send extremely long lines that aare unreaadable. - What is your problem related to sockets on Win-DOS? You are not using Win-DOS directly but via Cygwin and Cygwin includes a correctly working socket implementation. one question: which version is UDF? it's not clear. some versions are preferable for XP, and some for BD-R if I understand correctly. with mkisofs, it's just -UDF without a version number, so unclear, and help doesn't say what version. I do both of the above. My hardware is i7-3970x 6C12T 64GB RAM win7x64sp1 with 1xPioneer BDR-2208, 2xBDR-2209 and may add a 3rd. these are BDXL burners and are available from.http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Computer/Computer+Drives/BDR-2208http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Computer/Computer+Drives/BDR-2209 a bug in cdrtools is that UDF support doesn't work with multisession in a stable way. the status on the cdrecord web site that udf works perfectly seems ot be wrong from a practical standpoint. https://sourceforge.net/p/cdrtfe/bugs/54/ ------------- Jim Michaels Jmi...@ya... I don't know how you would lock memory in windows. ahh here it is: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa366895%28v=vs.85%29.aspx just search msdn.microsoft.com and use the compiler MSVC++ or mingw-w64+MSYS.internal SATA to mobo. win7sp1x64ult retail. I noticed after adding a -reset command to cdrecord in settings and hitting enter and saving, it did not take, -reset is not being issued to cdrecord. the option list is being ignored. ------------- Jim Michaels Jmi...@ya...
