#2 Unable to record mp3

I'm using CD Rider v2.1 Beta 4. Previously I was using
Beta 2. With both of these versions I was unable to
convert tracks from any of my CDs to mp3s, despite
trying different encodings. I am using Windows XP Pro
with all the latest updates installed. What happens is
when I click "record tracks", a boz appears for a
brief moment, just a flash, and in the folder where i
designated the files to go there is a file about 1 kb
in size. It's an mp3 file, but none of my media players
can play it. CD Rider works fime on my Windows 2000
machine though. Do you have any idea what the problem
