I feel that --blank-mode minimal should be the
default. When do you really need a full blanking of a
disk anyway? The usual case should be the default
case.

I got a rewritable CD that allowed write, but was getting
lots of errors (even some readers not detecting it).
Previously I was only doing minimal blank. After a full
blank the CD works perfectly. While complete blank is
safest, perhaps minimal can be default with some message
telling "do a complete blank if you have problems ...".

Andreas will tell better (when he returns from vacation).

Since minimal blank does not destroy the data on the cd, I
will consider it a security hole.

Though we found that in some cases minimally blanked discs were
not correctly written afterwards I'll make the requested change.
If you start an unintended full blanking it might take some time until
it is finished. If the minimal blanked disc does not work it is still possible
    to blank it fully.

The change will be released with version 1.1.6.
