ERROR: Cannot retrieve drive capabilities mode page.
This error occurs regardless of whether running as root or as a
less privileged user.
Error appeared after installing Mandrake 10.0 over my old 9.2.
cdrdao worked perfectly for my YAMAHA CRW2100E Rev:
1.0N under all previous versions of Mandrake and prior to 1.1.8
of cdrdao.
Maybe time to revert to older version of cdrdao?

I need help with this one. I don't have a Yamaha drive
available for testing. I don't see any reasons why cdrdao
1.1.7 would work and 1.1.8 would not.
The capabilities error simply means that although the drive
claims to be MMC-compliant, it really isn't. It should
merely be a warning though as it's only used to determine
non-critical data such as default read and write speeds.
