I ran the workaround. Be careful to follow every step. Remember you needed to save the script as a .app not a script file. That's probably why it's opening up in the script editor.
I did exactly the steps as described in the workaround, rebooted and CDock works!!!

No luck for me :-(
10.10.4 + cDock 8.1
I even used AppCleaner to uninstall cDock completely.
And uninstalled SIMBL and let cDock 8.1 promt to install SIMBL 0.9.9 again and rebooted.
I've even tried the workaround Applescript and nothing happens.

@Jakerlund:
I did the same (without AppCleaner) but the problem still existed. Step 3 from here: http://w0lfschild.github.io/pages/cdock_workaround.html ("3. Copy cDock (and/or ColorfulSidebar) bundles to /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/") solved the problem for me. Give it a try.

The workaround worked for me, the only problem is if I try to change the theme, it stops working again and I have to log out and back in to get it working again.

The strange thing is that cDock 8.1 + workaround works on my home comp.
But not on my identical office comp..!?
But today i tried cDock 8.2 on my office comp and it works with the workaround.
cDock 8.1 worked perfect (without the workaround) on my old MacBook alu (5.1 late 2008) with 10.10.4
So now i'm :-)
@James:
Just run the script after you've changed theme and it should apply it.
No need to log out/in. Just use spotlight and type the name of the script and hit return... boom. :-)

Just tried this in the new 10.10.4 update and not working. None of the modes change the dock
Same problem here. 10.10.4 kills cDock.
The workaround posted at https://sourceforge.net/p/cdock/discussion/error/thread/3bb5adec/#ca55
does work with the released 10.10.4 update -- sort of.
The snag is that when I restart or log back in, the script I've added to the login items opens in Script Editor, and I must run it manually.
Is there some step that's been omitted, so that the script runs automatically and doesn't merely open?

Yep, saving as an app was what I neglected to do. that fixed things. Thanks.
Working fine now on Yosemite 10.10.4 with the new update 8.1
Thanks for the great support.
