Yesterday i spoke with someone about GPL-ed XML parsers... you might recall
that the Apache license is not compatible with the GPL license (at least
100%)... The details are fuzzy and it seems tolerated...
Anyway, there seem to be better solutions... use a GPL-ed XML parser...
This parser has to be SAX2 compatible.
There seems to be such a parser, called Aelfred2 . The older
JChemPaint/Jmol developers might recognize it a the second version of the
parser we originally used, about three years ago already? It then was a very
small parser (30k) which was suitable for the Jmol/JChemPaint applet...
Anyway, it should not be much work to use this SAX2 parser instead of the
Xerces parser, but you never know... i'll report on this later...
