I found that Vhba only installs up to kernel 4.15.0-1-amd64 . I cannot get it to work on higher kernels on the exact same machine.
If vhba does load with the higher kernels cdemu cannot play any of my cd archives.
I havent been able to play any of my archives since upgrading from 4.15.0-1-amd64 kernel.

Is this a known issue ? If others use newer kernels successfully, it must mean I have some other issue.
I really miss using cdemu, it was a real blessing when it used to work on my system.

Thanks

Title of original post should be CDEMU, unfortunately I cannot edit my mistake.

Some additional info I forgot to add above and there is no way to edit my post it seems:

    # cat /proc/version
Linux version 5.15.0-12.2-liquorix-amd64 (stevep@mxlinux.org) (gcc (Debian 10.2.1-6) 10.2.1 20210110, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Debian) 2.35.2) #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT liquorix 5.15-15~mx21+1 (2022-01-03)

    # /usr/bin/cdemu --version
    cdemu 3.2.5 - (C) 2006-2023 Rok Mandeljc

    However
    # cdemu status
ERROR: Failed to connect to CDEmu daemon: g-io-error-quark: The connection is closed (18)

But, vhba seems to load with the kernel

    depmod -a
    insmod vhba

    completes without error.
