ccrypt is a command-line tool for encrypting and decrypting files and streams. It provides strong encryption based on the Rijndael cipher, a version of which is also used in the Advanced Encryption Standard.

Solid util that performs well

This is outdated cryptographic software that does not protect the integrity of the encrypted data. It should not be used anymore.

Love this software - is fast and does a good job. BUT am looking for it to pop up asking for password to encr/decrpt. In other words are using it in a GUI (via shell) and need it to pop up to get the input instead of requiring user to enter in the terminal.. Is this possible?
