If you have a 1d display as well as another display, then moving the cursor around in the 1d display sometimes (dependent on the exact circumstances) causes the display (and so the other displays) to resize itself, which is a bit disconcerting. I think this is because the intensity is printed out at the top as %.3f or something rather than %.3e or something, and when a digit is added or removed then it causes this resizing. (I guess the same thing could happen with the Nd display given the right circumstances.)
