(?) Bye, Yes, using -s1 -s2 and warpmodes works just fine. Reads the very same disk perfectly. Reading the disk with parallel transfer several times shows the errors on different places .... I am using one of these adapters which Protovision is selling. One end connects directly into the PC parallel port. Attached to it is a platine (board) which has a serial port and a port for the parallel cable. You surely know it. That way the 1541 can be connected to the PC using the standard IEC cables and the parallel cable soldered to the drive. This also allows me to test the parallel cable on the c64. Using several parallel copiers and nibblers has shown me that the parallel cables attached to (two different) drives are working fine. Also, if one of the wires would be broken on the cable, it should error all the way or just pass even unnoticed. Dunno how the routines there are programmed. I will try to catch you on IRC and ask for a test procedure you like me to go through or sumthing. :) l8r -- Count Zero/CyberpunX/SCS*TRC http://rr.c64.org - Retro Replay home |
