Well, when I just tried it again, it failed ... Since I had the 41II on the 64 
I also tried all kind of other different drive programs and found that there
must be something completely wrong.

I currently suspect the ROMs burned into that drive. Will read the current 
eprom out and compare against some sane ROMs.

Will have to report progress next week though since I am away for some days.
A different ROM may explain a few things. The 2.6 ROM I compared already looks 
VERY suspicious.

What would that mean ? my docs here say: original, serial 1/2 and parallel

The program doesnt work at all with the 1541II here. On the 1571 though it 
gave me nice 300.30 RPM ... will re-try with the 41 whenever the EPROM is 
replaced.
rpm1541 is really nice .. wish someone would make MC or something else behave 
a little like starcommander with "the hard" stuff being already supplied (or 
port SC over ... hehe)
