Well... I'm thinking a little bit. Do you use any special type of
machines (SMP, HT, for example)?
I believe (!) I found some race condition in the startup of the parallel
transfer working on cbm4win some time before. Such a race might leave
the drive in an erroneous state on exit, thus, your behaviour might be
due to that. I will check for myself.
Could it be that the 99, DRIVER ERROR never occurs with the first
command, but only after you used d64copy or cbmcopy with -tp? This would
indicate that my reasoning might be valid.

Ok, this should be unrelated. Although: You might have a short between
some lines on your cables (or, at least, small resistors) which result
in this behaviour.
