Just like on attic roof construction
Originally posted by: bruceawi... (code.google.com)@gmail.com
Actually it is quite different than the attic roof. The Radiant Barrier is applied to the bottom of the wood Roof Deck layer and there needs to be an air space there above the insulation to make it work. Need to add the air space layer to this construction and give it an R that depends on whether there is a Radiant Barrier or not.

DeeAnne requested that we restore this one. It is a problem because there is no attic model on a cathedral ceiling. But perhaps we could implement the old U-factor based algorithm that was used for some years to recognize at least some credit for adding radiant barriers when there is an air space. I've had this request from EAA users as well.

Revising this ticket to include radiant barrier on a cathedral roof to be included in next version.
I checked the CF1RPRFschema for the radiant barrier (true/false) data and found it is collected in 3 sections: Attic, Attic Verified and Altered and Cathedral Ceiling Verified and Altered.
From other entries in this ticket it sounds like it should be added to Opaque Surface Constructions section and labelled "Cathedral Ceiling Radiant Barrier" and only required if Surface Type (Q02) is Cathedral Ceiling - is that correct? Or does it go somewhere else?
action planned in week of 8/17-21
Ruleset & UI updates checked into SVN @ r1913
additional ruleset mod checked into SVN @ r1923
radiant barrier layer removed from frame path constructions (for cathedral ceilings - per guidance from BAW)
