Included in CBECC-Res 2019.1.2 and beyond is the ability to describe DHW solar thermal systems that include OG-100-rated solar collectors. Those collectors are combined with other system characteristics to model the hourly performance of the solar thermal system.
OG-300 ratings cover entire solar systems, including the collector(s), tank, pump, heat exchanger, controller, piping and valves.
This feature enhancement would be to allow the user to choose an OG-300-rated solar thermal system in place of existing program inputs (incl. OG-100-rated collector) - and to simulate the Proposed building model using the annual SSF specified in the rating certificate for the selected OG-300 system.
The Standard design for OG-300 proposed models would also be simplified to use annual SSF (as opposed to hourly simulation of solar thermal system performance).
