This project is still in it's infancy but what I have finished is (loosely) production ready. I still have a lot of things to do (comments, I know) and I have a lot of questions. I'm definitely more comfortable with Java than COBOL. I want to give Peter Thomas of the cb2xml project recognition for his work. The sablecc classes of cb2xml are the basis for the parser and the parsing logic is all adapted from that project.
Here's a short list of open issues (there are many more):
* Support more common types esp. binary and packed types
* I'm not sure how the value logic should work. I need someone to explain it to me
* I need to provide at least nominal support for all COBOL types, even if it's just to throw an exception
* I need unit tests
* I need to add an Object based get and set method to the base Data class.
I plan to produce an updated version in the near future that should address some of these. I wanted to get this up here so people can look at it.
I will be getting the web page and some simple user documentation up very soon.

My first attempt at an upload contained a bad build. I changed the package name but didn't update the build script. This has been fixed.
