Mac OSX

Hi!
After reading about your editor on the openSDI mailinglist, we
tried to install the application on Mac OSX but got all kinds of
errors. Can you tell if it works on the Mac and what we should do
to make it work? I tried to read some files from the
listasControladas and xml folder with a text editor but they could
not be opened/ looked like being binary, is that correct? I could
read the .properties files and the pdf manuals.
Thanks,
Jeroen

Hi,
The application should work on any plattform using the Java
(TM) 2 Runtime Environment (Standard Edition, Version
1.4.1) .
Download the .jar installation file and use the command java -
jar CatMDEDit_3.5.3_jar_en.jar to launch the installation
program.
With respect to the folders, listasControladas contains text
files for the codelists used in the applications.
XML folder contains the files to perform conversions between
metadata standards but they are not thought to be edited
manually.

Hi iaaa ;-)
I use Java 1.4.2. The installer extracts/installs the files in the proposed
location, but fails to create a startup shortcut. I do not know if it also
fails to do other required things since no installation log can be found by
me (it indicated more details were written to such a file).
Trying to start from the commandline did work eventually. I used:
java -jar lib/CatMDEdit_3_5_3.jar system.eproperties
CatMDEdit_en.properties icons.eproperties
It all seems to work! Great, I will start trying to use it.
Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Jeroen
