#9 Ca;t save preferences

I'm running 1.3.1 on Xubuntu 10.04, and trying to access a couple of TypePad blogs. Whenever I open QTM, it asks me for my preferences. Then I get a line thta says it can't contact the host, and finally, when the edit screen comes up, a line saying, "request failed." When I try to edit a post saved on my computer, the same thing happens. I think this is because I have several blogs under the same sign in and password?
