Hello Linux Users,
Catbird Linux has been upgraded to version 2.7 and is available for download. It is the bootable, self-contained live Linux environment which deshittifies general purpose computing on the desktop and empowers you to get things done. Catbird Linux is free as in "freedom" and free as in "free beer."
I changed some of the software available in the iso. As we had two very nice terminal emulators installed, Alacritty and Wezterm, I moved to conserve size and removed Alacritty. Wezterm is now the default terminal emulator. Also, I found the need for an ebook (epub) editing application and chose Sigil. It is a great tool for cleaning up the somewhat messy HTML code written to epubs exported from LibreOffice. Sigil is fast and efficient - far better than Calibre, in my most humble opinion ;-)
This version if Catbird Linux also brings software updates, including new stations for the SDR bookmarks and radio streamer. There is also a freshened Linux kernel 6.11.4. As usual, I fixed a few minor bugs.
Cheers,
Phil Collier / Catbird Linux
