SorceForge's release-system now works again, and the releases with missing files now had their files moved from eGroups to SourceForge. I will leave the 1.2.99beta2 release on eGroups for some time, since it was announced that it should be downloaded there.
The Windows tool has been released in a new beta-version, that now enables Windows users to publish their photos without having to know anything about PHP, Linux etc. Version 1.2.1 didn't really support HTML publishing - it was just a "hack" that didn't work very well. This new version has a very modular, customizable HTML publishing system that is definitely worth looking at.
It can be downloaded here:... read more
SourceForge still cannot be used to release files to, so the new version is placed at eGroups at
http://www.egroups.com/files/cat-photo/
The new version has a lot of Exif compatible stuff in it (without being incompatible with version 1.4).
Merry Christmas!
A beta-version has been released, without localization. It can be downloaded here:
http://www.egroups.com/files/cat-photo/
It reads exif information from jpeg files, such as camera manufacturer, camera model, date and time, subject distance, exposure time, aperture value etc.
The exif reader module in Cat-Photo is now pretty good and if anybody needs a good, Pascal based Exif reader, have a look at the source-code in the CVS tree.
This release only fixes a very, very small issue in the index.php3 file: The path was changed to become relative. This conforms better with the supplied HOWTO file.
Since SourceForge (again) is not able to release files, I have put the release on eGroups:
http://www.egroups.com/files/cat-photo/
Changes:
- Browse buttons (next/previous)
- Added a HOWTO file, that tells how to use this stuff
Lars.
A bug was found in Cat-Photo 1.2, that is also present in earlier versions. If timezone is set using the "Edit Details" dialog box, the description is set to the timezone value on all selected photos.
Version 1.2.1 also introduces a requested, but logical improvement: When "Edit details" is pressed, the current settings of all photos are found, and the settings, that are common for the selected photos, is displayed in the dialog box.... read more
Cat-Photo-Win 1.2 has been released. The main changes to earlier versions has been minor changes to the english version, but a lot of new translations have been added. Each translation is in a file for itself, which makes the release somewhat larger (more than 1MB). Additional languages will not result in a 1.3 version, but in a 1.2.1 version, unless something fundamental is changed.
The Windows program version 1.1.1 has been release. The major difference to version 1.1 is the addition of a danish translation and some german translation. Please read the release notes when downloading.
Cat-Photo-Win has now been internationalized. The first two languages well supported are U.S. English and Danish. Some work has been done on German, and Finnish might follow soon.
Cat-Photo 1.1 is out. There are so many new features, so much improvement, that users should upgrade immediately.
Most focus has been on end-user productivity, and it surely has improved.
Cat-Photo can be downloaded from http://www.cat-photo.com/.
New features in the latest CVS source-code, added recently:
- Images load in the background, which makes the user interface respond very quickly.
- Much more cat-photo values can now be set.
- Multiple files can now be edited at once.
- Image caching stores up to 4 pictures in memory, which makes them load and resize much quicker.
There will be a new release (version 1.1), when user input validation has been implemented into the new user interface.
Source-code will not be moved to SourceForge until I found out how to make WinCVS work well with SSH... Until then, please see the homepage at http://www.cat-photo.com/.
