Johann - I tried out your sane backend - good work !

Unfortunately it did not work for me. I have canon 1220U and (after
getting it to recognize usb id 0x2207) homing does not seem to work at
all. The code that waits for engine idle just spins there even though the
head is perfectly homed. I remember this part to be tricky as well and
ct_1220U.c still cannot home correctly when the scanner head is at the
other end of the scanner.

Also I found out why sourceforge is rejecting your e-mails - it thinks for
some reason that the From line says that your e-mail is from
johann.philipp (without any @ symbols). This is likely a problem with your
e-mail client or mail delivery agent.
