I've found a job! Yay! I think this will be good news for CamelBones. One major difficulty I've been having in the past few years has been trying to justify, in my own mind at least, the idea of spending time working on a free project when I had no income. I've had all the time in the world to spend on CamelBones, but I couldn't use it effectively because of that doubt. Whenever I *did* try to work on it, I couldn't shake the nagging thought that I was being irresponsible in doing so, and should be spending my time trying to make a living instead. So, even though being employed means having far fewer hours available for CamelBones work, it also means that those hours should be guilt- and distraction-free, and much more effective as a result. Further, being employed means being able to invest in a real Mac made by Apple some time soon, so I'll be able to develop for Lion as soon as it's released. I might even be able to buy a paid ADC account, or at least obtain seed access, to develop & test against Lion pre-releases. My contacts @ Apple were quite generous in giving me access to OS pre-releases in the past - although I haven't asked for them since the Intel switch, since they obviously wouldn't run on a Hackintosh. CamelBones support for a new OS version on the day of its release would be quite an improvement, I think. :-) sherm-- -- Cocoa programming in Perl: http://camelbones.sourceforge.net |
