Well, if i do not use the netbook, i guess no, it is not a problem to have
the backlight level reduced :)
With xfce-power-manager i have the presentation mode that i can use when
i'm watching film or studying or working, other times i want it to reduce
screen brightness to save power.
Well, so, let's hope a global dbus signal is emitted ;)
