I've tested emir image search with the test image files and everything worked fine.
Then i indexed 500 jpeg images from my harddisk. The software indexed he files without showing an error but the image search is not working and the resulting Index file has a size of 20 bytes.
Does the images files must be in a special format to be indexed by emir?
Thanks for this great software.
Well thats an experimental (but useful) feature. I've put up some documentation on the Wiki: http://www.semanticmetadata.net/wiki/doku.php?id=caliphemir:emir
In short: you have to enable the DB CBIR option in the "Index" menu to search in the database, then it should work fine.
Feel free to edit the Wiki docs.
Btw. I've changed the behaviour of the EdgeHistogram descriptor and released for a terster an alpha version, which allows much faster indexing. If you are interested: http://www.semanticmetadata.net/2006/02/07/cbir-performance-issues-resolved/
thank you for your fast response.
With "DB CBIR" enabled the indexing works fine. I will try out your alpha version the next few days.
