[c3p0-users] How to check the usage of Connections in a Pool ?

Hi,

When checking the log files of our application, I see regularly "acquire
test -- pool is already maxed out". In order to determine a correct value
for the maxPoolSize property, I would like to trace how the number of
connections evolve. I.e. when are connections allocated, used, released,
....

How can this be done (log file, JMX, ...) ?
