It would be nice to be able to specify multiple pools
for a single datasource, and specify either highly
available or load balancing for the algorithm to hand
out connections. I'm thinking something like this:
DataSources.pooledDataSource(Datasource[] unpooled, int
algorithm)
and all the related methods. With a couple pointers, I
could probably get this working and submit a patch.

    Eric,

Sorry again for the looooong delayed response.

I'm not sure I like this idea so much, because users could specify non-
equivalent unpooled datasources, which would be a big problem. You
should be able to get all the availabality any one JVM can manage from a
regular pooled data source buy specifying an arbitrarily large
numHelperThreads parameter... c3p0 is very asynchronous, and should
distribute load over its helper threads quite efficiently.

I really do apologize for not monitoring this tracker.... Very lame.

    smiles,
    Steve
