Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=2019174 By: shirokoff hi folks - I apologize if this is a silly question, but I've had a great deal of trouble finding documentation on the subject. I've never tried to do anything with a joystick before, so perhaps I'm missing something obvious. I'm trying to get a cheap analog joystick to work in bzflag. It's a 2 axis / 2 button joystick plugged into the game port, and other software recognizes it without a problem. I'm using the modules joydev/ns558/analog with a 2.4.18 kernel (mandrake 8.2) The joystick is on /dev/input/js0 and linked to /dev/js0. I'm running bzflag-1.7g0. The -joystick and -joystickname options suggest that there is some sort of joystick support built in... but, so far I've been unable to come up with an argument to joystickname that works. I've tried device names, driver names, and everything else I could think of. In all cases, I get an error message similar to this: ------- % bzflag -joystick yes -joystickname /dev/js0 Loading required GL library /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.0 @@Created GLX Context.. joystick '/dev/js0' not supported... loading fixedbr... ------- Does anyone know what -joystickname expects? Any examples of something that works for any joystick at all? I'm starting to hunt through the code now in search of it, but for me that may take a very long while. thanks, Erik ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
