When doing single player practise it is handy to have an easy way to play against a larger number of bots. The main problem of course is that for BZrobots you need to add them all one at a time with a seperate command and the -solo bots are pretty bad.

So if you could specify (with the BZFlag client) a BZRobot to use with -solo then it would be much nicer and easier to play single player (or just locally with 1-2 friends)

Eventually solo robots will be removed and more advanced robots (hopefuly based on bzrobots) will be moved into the server. BZRobots is not fully cross platform and won't work on windows so it is not the method we want to use for robots ( also bzrobts is not part of the client like solo bots). For playing it should be up to the server owner not each player for how many bots should be run. For local practice the local server will be able to be run with server side bots.

Please see the development roadmap for more info on when this is all planned, http://my.bzflag.org/w/Development_RoadMap
