hi to all, i had been trying to use bwm for quite sometime it take me a day to compile and install the program, but my problem is how do i create a correct firewall.xml, my objective for now is just to perform NAT to a single PC then monitor and shape its traffic to 50kbps up and down stream. i had been trying to use all the available resources that can be read from this mailing list but still to no avail. I think the main reason is lack of documentation in creating the xml file. can anyone who have succesfully use this tool help.. just want to have a firewall.xml that would NAT 1 client then monitor and shape its traffic to 50kbps. Thanks so much in advance jr __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Small Business $15K Web Design Giveaway http://promotions.yahoo.com/design_giveaway/ |

In short it comes to this: - Edit firewall.xml - Compile it with bwm_firewall - Load the generated ruleset in your iptables config with = iptables-restore - start bwmd daemon - check if it's working with bwm_monitor for the graphs, read the docs that comes with bwm_tools. BTW, there is a readme file included in the distribution, you should = browse it for details. You can refer to my experience with bwm_tools on http://www.murder4al.be Greetz & good luck Kobe ----- Original Message -----=20 From: GLO=20 To: bwm...@li...=20 Sent: Tuesday, March 30, 2004 2:28 PM Subject: [bwm-tools-tech] bwm-tools bandwidth management.
