Bandwidth Manager is an attempt at creating a custom Debian based distribution that is focused on network control, filtering and monitoring. Unlike the vast majority of other similar products, Bandwidth Manager will contain layer 7 protocol filtering that will enable protocol classification based upon the actual payload of the application data.

Amongst other features are;

* Layer 7 Filtering
* Bandwidth Control
* Caching and Proxying of FTP/HTTP
* Inline virus filtering of SMTP/POP3
