give every machines which supports playing different
notes two additional "virtual" machine properties,
note-shift and octave-shift maybe. those could then be
assigned to a midi-controller knob enabling to
dynamically shift the octave/note of the whole machine,
thus (dynamically) enabling playback in different
tone-heights with the same pattern.
