Hello,

I am looking @ the user's guide dated 20020821
17:00:42. I have some suggestions and comments. It
appears to be an excellent tool, so to give back a
little I like to give feedback.

1. web page has no title.
2. may want to identify that python 2.1+ may be
installed as python2 on your system (Linux)
3. manila -> may want to add link to userland
4. I would strongly suggest starting to include the
version # in your tgz filename.
5. it is unusual (and a poor choice) that you recommend
installing @ /usr/share, /usr/local would likely be
most appropriate, but @ the least /usr/local/share
would suffice. see http://www.pathname.com/fhs/
6. you should probably write '-vzxf' instead of 'xzvf',
the '-' being the most important of this very minor,
minor item.
7a. suggest making suggesting tar -vpzxf
7b. *nix> I am root/sudo rite ;-)
7c. update 'buzz' to your environ
7. 'cp buzz /usr/bin' should actual be 'mv buzz /usr/bin',
8. same for 'saxon', see 7, also note typo of 'usp'
instead of 'usp'
9. again 'python buzz.py' will likely be 'python2
buzz.py' on most Linux for @ least the nxt year, but
why is it not just 'buzz'
10. ick, it wants to look in /usr/share ;-)
11. "Enter Bash Command" is not clear? You want the
path to the bash? Uh, so now you tell me that bash is
a requirement ;-) & when prompted do I leave it blank
as well?
13. what is the name of the conf file? ;-)
13b. I assume that I logged out as root, and now the
permissions don't allow me to do much of anything ;-)
13. Config File, u continue to misunderstand what is
meant by 'share' in *nix context. What is the intention
here, simply shared executables?
14. "expand"/open any file? I don't get what you mean,
a viewer or directory browser. Directory browser I
think. The other side of the coin on Linux is 'nautilus'.
15. what is all of:
-The next line is a configuration switch to turn on
free form editting of XML while a schema is set.
-The next line is the "Home" file
-Next is your manila site
-Next is your manila username
Particularly, free form editing -- sounds interesting.
Does that just mean editing as you would any plain text
file?
16. What is the "Home" file? eek :S too me quite a
while to find...
dangerous, dangerous, you are assuming radio-heads ;-)
http://radio.weblogs.com/0104487/outlines/radioFacts.html
> The home file of the site is index.txt. It's a
regular text file,
> and contains no html, just a few variable
declarations, and a call
> to a Radio macro command to access the page's actual
content in the
> object database. When published, this file will
generate an index.html
> and an rss.xml file.
17. should make it clear which options are option.
18. eek, eek, you continue to want to play in share, my
files should be in my home :-D
19. Short cut -- if I like it, which I think I will --
I will send u instructions for "short cut" on Gnome.
You will need to find yourself an image/icon.
20. tsk, tsk, you should identify versions for saxon, etc.

Well, that is enough for me to actually use it. I want
to check this out and a few other XML,notes, outline
editors. Just for my info are you going to make the
source for your current devel version available? If
you would like I can check it into sf.net's cvs.

Cheers,
Lloyd D Budd

PS. I hv submitted a bug with this info, just in case
u are no longer working on this, and someone else comes
along and wants to continue your excellent effort.
