Hi, I wan to propose integrated database development tools for butler project. I see it this way: 1) Graphical editor for ER diagrams and conceptual modeling like this stuff http://www.utexas.edu/its/windows/database/datamodeling/dm/erintro.html 2) Implementation model editor (Implementation model is just a relational model a.k.a shema). Transformation from conceptual model to relational is well known and we can do it automaticaly (two way editor). 3) Incremental JAVA code generators. Generated code can be edited by user, it is possible to merge it automaticaly. We can have more metadata in model than we can get from database shema and we can generate more stuff. Implementation: Tools are eclipce IDE plugins and are based on IBM frameworks. EMF is a code generation framework, it has template engine and tools to merge generated code. GEF is a MVC framework designed for graphical editors. I know this stuff very well and I can help to implement it, my SF id is "baliuka". __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hi, I have started to use jelly (jakarta commons) for XML parsing in butler. To be able to compile you must have commons-jelly-1.0-beta-3.jar in your classpath. To be able to do XML parsing of queries you also need commons-beanutils.jar and dom4j.jar in the classpath, to be able to run. Theese files in the lib folder in the latest release, 0.2.0. /Fredrik _______________________________________________________ Skicka gratis SMS! http://www.passagen.se |
