#11 task distribution

I noticed that on the more heavy jobs i use burrtools for, most of the time only one core is used.
Would it be possible to split the work in chunks and spread them over multiple cores, or even run them on a cluster ?
(yes, i have some ideas waiting for that much computing power.)
