MPEG Streamclip outputs an MPEG2 file (with MPEG as the extension), it does not reencode etc, it allows you to edit the original MPEG2 (VOB) and simply save the file.

Why does Burn detect the Streamclip MPEG2 file as an unknown file type and proceed to re-encode this file?

I have tried changing file name extension to mpeg2 etc

I've now tried every possible MPEG2 file extension.

I've also "file info" both the Streamclip file and the reencoded Burn MPEG2 files and both are of course MPEG2, AC3. The Burn file however is approximately twice the size of the Streamclip output file?

Post #3 in this thread by lilysimpson is SPAM for windows software (not relevant to OSX burn) and points to malware hosting sites, according to google and safe browsing.

Wish there was a way to report it.
