Everyone! Available immediately, we're happy to announce the third beta version of BUGS 2 - codenamed "Corundum"! This third beta contains all the modules which will be available upon release, as well as language support and general improvements. - What's new in this release? There are several things that have been added and improved in this release. In addition to fixing 24 new issues since beta 2, these are the highlights of the beta 3 release: * Added: Calendar module * Added: SVN Integration module * Added: Language / translation support * Updated: Search module is now a lot quicker * Updated: BUGS 2 core functionality - Release notes This release has focused on getting the translation support ready, as well as completing the remaining modules. We have completed and added two new modules - Calendar and SVN integration - which will be part of the BUGS 2.0 release. - Installation instructions The beta release can be downloaded by following the link posted at http://www.thebuggenie.net/ , or by visiting our sourceforge.net project page - http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/bugs-bug-genie . Extract the beta 3 archive into a folder under your web server, then point your web browser to it, and follow the on-screen instructions. - Upgrade instructions This release does not contain any upgrade functionality. If you have been using a previous version of BUGS, such as BUGS 1 or any of the BUGS 2 betas, you need to install this release from scratch. - What's next? In the last beta release, we will finish the command line client, as well as the upgrade scripts for migrating from BUGS 1 to BUGS 2. It will not be possible to upgrade from any BUGS 2 beta releae to BUGS 2.0, only upgrades from the latest BUGS 1.x version will be supported. If you want to help us with this functionality, please drop me a message, and I'll get in touch with you. We need real people with real BUGS 1.9 installations to test the upgrade functionality, if we want the upgrade functionality to work properly. Any and all bugs and issues with this release can be reported in our issue tracker. Please report them if you find any. IMPORTANT! This release is beta quality, and as such is not recommended for production use. Things may break, and we do not provide support for this version. |
