#1 fixes for lots of things
Buddydog Retriever is the greatest thing since sliced bread. But it is broken. Lots of things don't work and the developer is AWOL.
Attached is a stuffit file containing fixes to several modules as well as some new comics I like.
Instructions:
Back up everything. Read this document completely.
Copy main.sh from this archive to the buddyretriever folder in your home directory, replacing the original main.sh. Copy the contents of the folder "fixed modules" in this archive to the modules folder in $HOME/buddyretriever.
Caveats: the main.sh file disables Miami Herald output, since it was making the main page look like crap and I didn't have time to fix it. The Arizona Republic broke today. I haven'y had time to fix that either. The Washington Post may or may not work for you. If not, go to washingtonpost.com using either Mozilla, Netscape, Chimera or Camino. Fill out the stupid questionaire about your age, etc. Search for the corresponding cookies.txt file on your hard drive. It could be in $HOME/Library/Mozilla/Profiles/default/ge8qybiw.slt/ or $HOME/.mozilla/Profiles/Chimera/wpqjo9un.slt/ for example. Edit the file $HOME/buddyretriever/modules/wpscript.sh and change the path in the line that starts with "curl" to have the path that you found. DO NOT edit this or any other .sh file with TextEdit or any other unix-unaware word processor. Use BBEdit or the terminal. If you feel uncomfortable doing the above, just skip it.
