Hey there.  I'm the other guy actually listed as a developer on the
Sourceforge site.  Basically, over the summer I decided to work on the
map editor.  I actually did manage to complete it.  Fully functional
(with the exception of buildings - didn't quite finish those, but
that's easy to finish), exports and imports the maps in XML format,
etc.  Never did actually commit it to the CVS, though... it's all
still on my box.  I'll have to commit it.

Unfortunately, college life returned with a vengeance and that's
pretty well sucked up my time.  The next couple weeks will be pretty
busy.  Over Christmas break, though, I could probably start in on
whatever the next thing is.  I haven't particularly looked at much of
the rest of the code, so I don't exactly know what state everything
else is in.  According to the roadmap that Jonathon put together, the
goal for 0.3 is finish the Unit Editor, 0.4 is the Map Editor, and 0.5
is start working on the Scenario Editor, which sounds like a good
schedule.

As far as lack of experience with Python... well, I'd never touched
Python prior to this summer, with various college CS classe experience
with C++ and Java.  I picked up Python pretty fast, and it's actually
become my favorite language.  It's just FUN to code in.  For that
matter, QT is a _beautiful_ GUI toolkit.  We had to use MFC for a
class project, and that was nothing but pain and suffering.  QT is
well designed, well documented, results in very clean code, and just
works well.  Putting Python and QT together is just sweet.

Anyway... glad to have some more interest in the project.  I'd love to
see this thing actually seriously playable sometime in the general
near future.
