MRU Upgrades Seems like the Union Technicians on Randis IV have went to a new school o= f training.=C2=A0 Mobile Repair Units now have the following functionalit= y: * Techs will repair damage in descending priority, from most damaged to l= east damaged. * Techs have given all the ammo they once had to the J-27 Ammo techs. The= y no longer have your ammo in stock. * Techs did manage to jam in 170-210 points of armor/internals.=C2=A0 Som= etimes it falls off the dropship, hence the randomness. Enjoy. |

Server Update: 02/22/06 Well, the latest round of updates are in: *=C2=A0 We now follow MaxTech rules for Glancing blows. This means if ROL= L=3DBTH than its a glancing blow (i.e. bth 9, roll 9). *=C2=A0 Glancing Missiles now follow the proper rules (-4 to the Missile = Hit table, minimum of 1 missile, full damage) *=C2=A0 Various stability fixes by Hag. *=C2=A0 Shooting Inferno missiles at a unit protected in the water (-1 pr= one, -2 standing) will be a waste of your missile *=C2=A0 Landing with a damaged/destroyed gyro (jump, ood) will be slightl= y harder. *=C2=A0 Speed changes on actuator, leg loss, etc should be correct now That\'s all I can remember right now. |

New THUD Betas Available Hi all, If you\'re a user of the Java-based BTMUX client THUD (check out http://bt-thud.sourceforge.net/ if you\'re not, it\'s a great lightweight alternative to some of the other clients and runs on any OS that can run Java, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, etc) then you will probably be quite interested to know that official development on this client has resumed. Tony has graciously agreed to let me add my own contributions to the official THUD source. The 1.3 beta (available now, see below for details) includes many new features such as: * A new window displaying weapon and other status information * Armor diagrams overlaid on the tactical map * \"Always on top\" mode for windows * Unit leave/enter autodetection * Better handling of disconnections Also included are run-time optimizations, other minor bug fixes, etc. Hopefully by now you\'re wondering where you can lay hands on this! The answer is at the THUD SourceForge page, which is: http://sourceforge.net/projects/bt-thud . If you are a THUD user, you should bookmark this site as this is the official place to submit new feature requests, bugs, and download releases. The 1.3 beta can be found by clicking on \'Download\' and then selecting the latest listed for the \'bt-thud-beta\' package. If you want to stay up-to-date on releases, you can click the little envelope icon on that same page and subscribe to be notified when new releases are made. We are also very interested in building the THUD community and getting user input on what bugfixes and new features should receive highest priority. Everyone can help - no programming skills required, just tell us what you do and don\'t like and maybe share some ideas for the future. The best ways to share your input are to join the bt-thud-discussion mailing list ( http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bt-thud-discussion ) or to join the THUD (addcom thud=THUD) channel on Frontiers or the HUD channel on 3030. Sorry for the cross-posting of this, but I figure new progress on a 4-year-old client is pretty big news! Submitted by Casy Eratl |

Today's Updates 02/20/06 It now takes 12,500 victory points for a faction to win. This is now shown on the daily posts to bb8. No, there is no way to see your faction\'s progress on demand, it\'s this way for a reason and it will not be changing. We now track XP earned over the last 3 days instead of 7. We\'re going to see how this shorter time works and may adjust it a few times over the next few redists. The sorting algorithm for outfits and independent players has changed to hopefully be a bit more effective.Outfits should no longer scatter across factions at redist.Faction boards are now wiped between redists.Fixed a few minor outfit quirks. |

Frontier Flier Plaster a bulletin board near you. They were requested a while back and I finally have turned out a basic flier for those who would like to hand them out or post them on bulletin boards or wherever else is convenient. Make use of them, they\'re spiffy and stuff. Download a copy and get posting! |

New Bug Tracker The old bug tracker was pretty cruddy and I didn\'t want to spend the time to clean it up so we\'ve integrated a Mantis bugtracker for all our bug tracking needs. The bug tracker link on the top of the page has been updated to point to the new one. To submit bugs, login with your in-game name/pass like you do for the website. |
