On my Nokia 6230i, I can only set "Ask always" and "Not allowed" for the write security settings of the Java application. For the other options "Ask once" and "Always allowed" the phone says: Not available for this application.

I would be nice if these two option would be available so the phone doesn't ask several times for access while downloading a log file from my Holux M-241.

This is a limitation of your phone that requires a certificate installed on the phone and a signature of the application using that certificate.

If you have a phone other than a Nokia phone, the application can be signed with the so-called 'Halmer Certificate'. On Nokia phones (like mine) that does not work because it requires that the certificate used to sign the application is itself signed by a certificate of a company like Verisign or Thawte for example. To get such a certificate, a substantial amount of money has to be paid (and I believe that this is even on a yearly basis).

I will self-sign the application in the future which should be equivalent to the Halmer certificate but I still need to set that up.
