First of all: congratulations, this is the best chess interface I've seen to date, very good work!

I don't know if this idea would be too much hard to implement, but is something that may works as is original and I think it would improve the game.

There are many chess variants that most people have never played:

I think it would make this the greatest chess game if it was possible to costumize a the board and rules via modding or whatever so you could play things like Minichess, Los Alamos Chess, the Eight Level Chess or maybe even play Draughts

    ugh, and forget about the eight level chess... it is too complicated. But the Dragon chess (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_chess) does look good

    With our current code base this would be rather difficult to do. After looking at the list of variants, Fischer Random Chess (Chess960) is the only one I could see us adding in the near future. Maybe somewhere down the line we could come back to some of the others.
