Broke-Aid 0.9.6 is available for download!

Welcome to another release of Broke-Aid! Version 0.9.6 has minor but essential improvements to the server. When a node is fenced and rebooted, a "portenable <port num>" is usually performed on the server to allow the fenced node to rejoin the cluster. With this release, portenable is no longer necessary. As long as the nodes are configured to execute the "brokeaid-client" program during startup, the server will automatically enable the respective port of each node upon check-in. Please use the "create-client-bundle.sh" script to create the Broke-Aid client installer. This will ensure that your nodes are properly associated with the server.... read more

Broke-Aid 0.9.5 is released!

We are now so much closer to version 1.0! This release is mostly enhancements to the client programs. Not a single line of code has been changed in the server programs which could mean that the code is bug-free enough for 1.0 or no one cared to report any bugs (I hope it's the former).

Version 0.9.5 includes the "create-client-bundle.sh" script. This utility simplifies the installation of the client programs. Basically, it creates an installer, based on the current server configuration, that can be executed on all cluster nodes so that the nodes will autoconfigure themselves to associate with the Broke-Aid server.... read more

Broke-Aid version 0.7.5 is released

Version 0.7.5 includes the storagedown utility which can be used to close all storageports. This utility has been integrated into the brokeaid sysv init script. These changes were made in preparation for Broke-Aid HA (High Availability). It also improves the functionality of the sysv init script.

The upcoming Broke-Aid HA will feature two Broke-Aid SANs in high-availability configuration. It will use heartbeat and DRBD. Initial tests with Cluster Suite have been successful. We still have to investigate on the possibility of running GFS because DRBD does not support all filesystems (e.g. XFS).... read more
