Hi,

I am trying to export my drawings to a vmrl format. The export with the command below works in principle, but the output is on the the terminal, not in a file. Using the tutorial, I have not been able to figure out how to export it to a file. What is the appropriate way to export it to a file? Thanks,

bash-3.2$ /usr/brlcad/rel-7.12.2/bin/g-vrml cell.g lid4.r

Thanks!

Michiel

    Under bash try this:

    g-vrml 1> cell.vrml 2> cell2vrml.stderr

The vrml code goes to stdout and the log and errors go to stderr, hence the redirection into the appropriate file.

The man page says there is a "-o outputfile" option for g-vrml. Have you tried that?

    Hi,

Thanks, the dash makes all the difference! Wouldn't have considered that in a thousand years. Mind you, I'd never used a unix terminal till last week.
