Vanilla OIS depends on certain linux-specific features on non-windows which are not critical to normal functioning. These have been wrapped in #ifdefs so as to not compile them when building on FreeBSD. Additionally, some changes have been made to the handling of X inputs, based upon a patch taken from FreeBSD's ports source-based package management system. While these changes do not seem likely to harm functionality on other X-using platforms e.g. linux, testing there is probably a good idea.
