I just wanted to send a heartfelt welcome and introduction out to Guilherme Kunigami and Brandon Hinesley! They are our two outstanding GSoC applicants that will be joining the dev team to work on LIBOPTICAL and MGED/Archer/LIBGED respectively this summer. Guilherme's stepping up to a challenging project to work on improving our shader subsystem by integrating Sony Imagework's Open Shader Language (OSL). Brandon will be helping push us closer towards an Archer/MGED "alpha" release status by working on LIBGED refactoring to bring over a few of the harder commands still needing to be migrated. Their work starts today, so keep an eye out for their questions and comments -- lend a helping hand. Students: ask questions, be visible! Also, make sure you've gone through the post-acceptance checklist [1] if you haven't already... :) [1] http://brlcad.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code/Checklist Cheers! Sean |
