When using xpush recently, some error condition killed the top-level group
and some regions. When the user attempts to keep remaining groups (which
can be viewed and listed down to the solid parameters), mged dies without
warning or dumping. When attempting to open the database, the user gets a
message about the database being corrupt and thus being opened read-only.
Question: is there any hope of salvaging the remaining objects? Is there
any way, internally, to change a read-only database to read-write?
