I know this sounds really stupid but...

I just installed brlcad, and now I cannot for the life of me get it started.  What should I be typing to start it up?

I didn't get compiled it unfortunately, but start mged 1st.
In case it's not in your std path - it should be in
      /usr/brlcad/bin/mged       ?
As far as I remember it from the closed source versions - it was there.

I'd suggest reading through the Tutorial series documentation as well available on the website at http://brlcad.org/.  The Overview of BRL-CAD and Introduction to MGED are the places to get started.  mged is a good place to start, application-wise.

I think I know what the problem is. No "bin" directory in the binary distribution... I grabbed the tgz from 3 different mirrors.

Oh well. Time to crack out make.

Actually....I can find the directory where the program resides, everything is there.  The problem is that I can't start it up.  I am running Suse 9.2 2xAMD opterons.  I have gone through the documentation and it still seems like there are some steps missing.  While it's true that I'm a green Linux user, I've never had any problems like this before.

        Is your mged executable?
