Bristol install "[install-recursive] Error 1"

    I tried to install Bristol using the "make install" command and it did this:

    What is wrong and how do I fix it?

      This is probably caused by not having libX11-dev installed - when you did the ./configure it should have reported an issue with this package, if the make cannot find the X11 library headers it cannot build the GUI library shim, brightonX11.

      Depending on your linux version there are different ways - either find the RPM on Redhat version or Synaptic will list libX11-dev if you do a search.
