New Release from Media Encoding Cluster is out now!

Welcome to Release

there have been much effort to bring out the new Release from the Media Encoding Cluster, that is a complete rewrite from the old one.

Important Changes are:
- Core is build on Erlang
- new version from FFMPEG
- New Web Administration Interface
- Integrated JSON API
- Auto Update for the Media Encoding Cluster

Why Erlang:
with Erlang we are able to bring out a stable, fault tollerant, scalable and distributed environment, with Erlang we dont need extra dependencies to an extra Database or Webserver, we can use the embedded Inets and Mnesia Services.

Why a new Web Interface:
the old Webinterface was difficult to upgrade to new Features and in the circumstance of switching to Erlang that is the right Point to build a new Webinterface.

through an API some other Developers and Integrators can connect to the Encoding Cluster to control and access it for other Applications.

Why Auto Update:
in a distributed environment it is diffcult to maintain the entire nodes with actual versions from the Encoding Cluster, with the Auto Update Feature it makes it very easy to Update the Cluster to a new Version. Downgrades to old versions are also possible.
