#30 Authentication error on DB migration

hi Folks,

thanks for any suggestions you can offer me on this.
I migrated my BRIM database to a new server; all works fine except
when I initially log on (ie, to Calendar), I get this authentication error
message at top of screen:

Use of undefined constant authenticated - assumed 'authenticated' in /home/mydomain/public_html/brim/framework/checkLogin.php on line 63

The error disappears as soon as I navigate to any other screen and doesn't' return until I log out & in again.

any suggestions?
